Work's really crazy. Got scolded today for nothing to start of with. But then just before starting work , our dear Des msg me and was rah-ing about something and someone. hahaha. So funny. Lucky he's ok after all the rah-ing. and then it was my turn to rah.. He's like my RAH-ing partner! hahaha... New nickname for him. (:
Des's going to start his night shift again. Taking over Jojo. So he'll be doing 4 nights! haha. A torture but he's going to tahan for his dream of getting a car. i really salute this guy. haha. I was thinking of doing perm night though. Hmmm. Pros and Cons of it though. Oh wells.
Anyway... another 7 more days to go before my off day la.. Gosh! endurance please. I've got no off all the way. must jiayou already. Seriously. haha.

It's halfway through the night. Time check: 3:12am.
It's quite peaceful tonight. Besides the fact that i just cleared one of my patient's cup whom he like pee-ed into his cup? Like again. He's basically confused and erm.. will just like er.. pee into any cup or holder is within his reach. haha.
Gerard's sleeping, Jojo's playing my PSP, and i'm blogging. Oh did i mention that Jojo's trying to learn how to play my SIMS and she almost killed my sim? haha. Its ok. Lucky we managed to "revived" my sim. haha.
My beloved 92 year old aunty is so soundly asleep but not my other patients. One is stripping her top, 2 is stripping her bottom and yelling like mad-calling for thamby. haha. Which means little brother in Tamil. 3 is half awake by the noise, 4 inisits on going to the bank and wants to rape people, 5 is practically wetting her bed. 6 is my beloved 92yr old aunty who's the most quiet patient tonight. haha..
Went to the salon to do my hair and came back at 3pm. Slept and got up at about 630 to have dinner and get ready. Lovin' my new colour. wahaha.... (: Can't wait to meet the Bee Gees! I know they'll be meeting today to discuss. I'll be meeting them tmr instead to run through the iteneary with them. And then i realised that next week's my birthday already!! Gosh! my buffet! my cake! all havent done! haha. Sleeping day and day off will be the day that i'll settle everything!

Night shift!
*yawns*
End of my 2nd night. 1 more night to go! *yippie* How fast! 2 nights just went by like that. and tonight will be my last night. and then off for the next 2 days! ((: Greats! And i'm the overall junior. Its quite fun. Lots of things to do that occupies you the entire night. No chance of feeling sleepy at all!
I really pity my patients who are GCS 15( totally conscious and orientated just like any normal person). Because my other patients through my past 2 nights were like crying, screaming their lungs out, non stop talking and chanting.. They just couldn't keep quiet.
Last night, my dearest beloved aunty kept talking and chanting the entire night through! we couldn't take it and so couldnt the other patients from the same room. So jojo and i decided to move her out to our nurses' counter and stare at her. haha. But she kept talking and talking still! One minute hungry, one minute she wants to go home and sleep. haha. Oh my tians. Tonight another dose of "entertainment". haha.
Jokes of the night:

And we burst out laughing. And i was like..
"yea yea! Jojo is married and she's pregnant too!" hahahaha... a total minute of entertainment. Because hengqin saw jojo wearing a ring on the wedding finger. So she thought jojo was married. And those who know Jojo's 'identity' laughed when i said that Jojo's preg. haha.. You'll understand why. haha... So now, apparently Jojo's married and preg and has 3 kids! hahaha..
2. Jojo and i were doing turning and changing for one patient from Room 1. and for safety purpose we have to restrain this patient. But clearly the uncle wasn't happy. And jojo said...
"Uncle i'm sorry i have to do this. When you reach my age, you'll understand."
Doesn't sound like there's anything wrong right? But *psst* The uncle is 80 years old! and our dear jojo is only 22!
and i was like.. "Jojo, how is the uncle suppose to understand?! i dont think he'll be able to ever reach your age?!!! hahaha... It was so jojo's moment. And we both just stood there and laugh.
Alrights. Enough of Jojo. i think yesterday the joke was on her la. Haha. I shall go get ready and head out to my hairstylist! I'm going to colour my hair!!! wahahaha.. Then back home to sleep and off to work!
Oh yea! Did i mention our ward came like 12 new students from Ngee Ann Poly! On attachment!Praise the Lord! Here comes helpers! hahaha....now i understand the joy that the staff nurses always get whenever they see students! I so agree!

Time check: 5:13am
Training for my night shift. I haven't slept yet. Tonight, will be starting my night shift. Was out last night with the usuals till almost 2am, came back watched tv and VCD till now.
Night shift's starting... I dont know. scary? haha. Nightmare? haha... Hmmm, i wonder? Prepared myself with my picnic basket. haha. Buscuits, tea, milo. haha...Gosh.
Time really flies so quickly! It's almost the end of August! Oh my tians! that means Sep is coming! That means my birthday is coming! That also means i'm turning 21!!! Freaks! hahaha... Oh well. I shall start crashing into bed soon....

To the person this is concerns.
Indeed memories are ours to keep. And we choose how we want these memories to be. We can look back at them and cry, and complain why we didnt have more. Or we can look back and smile, and thank God for the wonderful memories shared. (:
I know it hasn't been easy for you. But like i said before to you, you're someone who really amazed me! How a guy so young like you, are able to share such similar thoughts and thinking as me! No wonder you're my twin. I can soon declare you my best guy friend.
I know how it feels to walk to places that brings memories, talk about things that bring memories.. and suddenly u realised that you have unknowingly brought yourself back to the past once more. I know it hurts and the feeling is terrible. You don't have to force yourself to let go of all these things. These are memories that are inevitable. The more you try to run away from it, the more these are going to "hunt" you down.
After so many months of torture, tears, puffy eyes and fears, all i can say is no one is able to help you through this other than yourself and God. In him put your trust and claim that victory that he has promised, and his gladdness . Why try to surpress all these feelings of joy or whatever the memories bring? Why not look back and smile tog with those memories?
It's not going to be easy. It's been more than half a year for me and yet at times i still have my sudden breakdown moments. But i know with your faith, you can pull through this! Esp with me, your dearest Twin! I know what you're thinking of you know! So of course i know the difficulties!Ok? Just continue to trust in the Lord. And as much as i know and i've been affirmed to be a fighter, i know you are one too! C'mon, you're my twin leh! Right right? So hang in there!

It has been a very lovely weekend accompanied by beloved friends that really help me keep my mind away from work and let me not think about work, but to really enjoy my off days!
Thurs after work, met darling. And tog with da ge, we went to vivo. To me, this place is still quite sensitive. And each time i step into that place, an unknowing feeling of sadness just fills me. Suddenly the aircon will seem extremely cold that i wish i had you with me by my side. Suddenly it seems as if the whole place was filled with couples after couples and i look beside me and yet all i see is just a memory of you.
Besides that point, we had dinner tog before da ge left for work and darling and i headed down to town to do a bit of shopping. We walked around a little and then Wei Jie finally came to join us. And i think maybe to help end darling's suffering? haha. Because i kept picking for her the clothes that i know she irks the most. haha.
Fri after work was a date with my hairstylist at BPP's Kimage. Wanted to do soft rebonding for my hair, cut and colour. But the estimated cost was beyond my limit. So i decided to put my colouring on hold till end of the month- which i'm planning to do it on my sleeping day! *yippie* I had a whole lot of company with me. the usual gang came to meet me and waited for me so dearly. haha. We had dinner before heading down to church to attend Fr Yeo's wake.
After the wake, caught a 1130pm movie- The Love Guru with Subra, Ronn, Jo and Leroy @ Causeway point. It was really funny. Stupid funny and really funny funny. Prob we could have related to the story because it really reminded us of our dear friend Subra! It was like Subra's life being played on screen for us to see. hahahahaha... After movie, which was about 1 plus, we called Antaeus and jio him out fro Jln Kayu's prata. After which, we dropped him home, then Jo and Leroy. Ronn, Sub and i decided to go for joy ride... that started at about 230am?
From Hillview -> CCK -> Lim Chu Kang -> Old choa chu kang roads -> Cemetries -> military camps -> detention camps -> NTU ->CCK again. haha. Bet it was a big eye opener for Ronn esp. haha. Everything ended at about 445am at CCK again. Where we almost went down to the East to catch the sunrise. But plan failed. It might be carried out on the 6th Sep instead? haha. So we headed to Ronn's block at about 520am where we stonned, thinking of what to do. And in the end all 3 of us fell asleep till about 535? haha. And we all decided to head home since in a couple of hours we were going to see each other. And the fact that i was suppose to be meeting Yvt at 8am!!
Came home, changed, rinse and *ploke* myself onto bed and slept. Woke an hour later, bathe changed and out to meet Yvt for breakfast. Finally managed to pass her her super belated bday present. But at least she liked it! (: Her Guess Wallet. (: After breakfast, was church to meet Jem and marcel to return the equipments to SFA. After that, to Bukit Panjang to meet the soccer ppl. Lunch, and off we went to IKEA, queensway and Anchor point. A gang of Charms, Rach, Val, Ronn, Subra, Marcel and Leroy. Walked, laughed, shopped.. and then dinner @ Rail Mall's Blooie's. >.<
Felt quite awkward at that place. Sensitive place la. Can't help. Dinner was good, then Lot 1 and home... Tiredness is finally hitting me......... i think got to head to bed soon........

2 more days before my off day!!
*cries out yippie*
Work today was ok.. Wasn't that bad till i saw next 2 week's rosters that were out fresh from Sister's office. And my oh my.. I'm starting my night shift already! on the 23rd is my first night. And my little ray of happiness were like flattened the moment i saw who i was night with. Gerard. Rasi, Vasanthi, Vali, Bard, Hengqin, Des, Azimah all burst out laughing and then starting congratulating me as if like i was getting married.
It was crazy! there was this sudden huge commotion at our GW side. I almost banged my head against the wall i tell you! AHH!!! It was like what the shits at first. But then the whole commotion went on and on till i started to feel a bit pissed off. and i started to keep quiet and then the commotion died out. Rasi said it might have been a plan by Sister Kamsiah. To try to match make Gerard and I. What's up with them trying to pair me up with ppl arh? Rasi was trying to pair me and Desmond up too. Right onss.. *sigh*
As if commotion 1 wasn't bad enough. Then came commotion 2. The specimens. haha. The anaesthetics ordered for U/E/Cr for patient. My junior nurse Hengqin decided she wanted to take. So Rasi supervised her. And then she passed me the tube after taking and i signed and Desmond counter sign. Nothing wrong right? NO!! Because about an hour later, the lab called and said we used the wrong tube! It was suppose to be the plain tube but we used the purple tube! So specimen reject! haha. And the best part was the 4 of us didnt' realised! When i told Des, he was like "Aiya! i saw! I saw the purple tube, but it didnt occur to me!" and he could still say "Purple form, purple tube, send" hahahaha.. Jokes.....
Oh well, so much for today. Tmr AM shift. Jaja's going for op tmr. *cross fingers* Will be praying for her. That poor girl was so afraid that she didn't want to go home. Hope at least tonight she can get some rest. Will try to visit her. Tmr meeting darling after work. But then tmr there's this Neuro test. Right ons... havent studied. Des said it's a 100MCQ test. Good luck.

Off day!! *yippie*
Decided to sleep in for once for my off day. Almost every off day i had something on, and hence didn't sleep in much. But this week i couldn't afford to already. Have not been sleeping well these few days. So i slept from 2am till today 1230pm? haha. SHIOOOOOOK! And i was still sleepy! if mum didn't wake me, i could have still slept.
It's been a long time since i slept till i woke on my own. Maybe next off day? haha...Anyways, woke up to find some china lady at my place demonstrating to mum this water vacuum cleaner that not only cleans the floor, but the sofa and beds too. And apparently dust mites too! Cool! So obviously i had to get out of my bed so she could clean mine too. This lady's mum's friend's friend. And yea, after 1 hour of cleaning, and another hour of explaining, my mum bought it.. At like $3k?!!!! OH MY TIANS!
Had to hurry mum out cause had to meet colleagues at around 4 at Vivo. Left the house at 230, went to the studio to select our family pictures to put into a portrait. Photos were nice! I'll try to scan them and so can load them here. wahaha... They gave us the sample pictures to bring home so that we could decide and then bring back to them where it'll take them about 1 1/2months to put it into a frame. *anticipates* ((:
After that, mum gave me a lift to Vivo. Met Jaja, Desmond, Azeann, Siti and Azimah for movie- The mummy! It was quite good. Just that cause all of them worked morning shift, except for me and Siti who's on night, Jaja and Azeann fell asleep through the movie! haha. Poor girls. Siti and i kept laughing thru the show. it's quite nice! Better than Dark Knight i must say. Desmond bluffed us. He told me ystd that the movie's 1 hr and 13min. But it turned out to be 113min. Des, quite a big differnce to you know? haha.
After movie, went down to bugis to meet Wei Jie (my expo colleague) for dinner. then we just walked around the place. and i bought a bag again! haha... What's new. its val thank you. ((: hahaha...
Oh well! looking forward for the weekends! YEAH!!!!!!!!

Had to hurry mum out cause had to meet colleagues at around 4 at Vivo. Left the house at 230, went to the studio to select our family pictures to put into a portrait. Photos were nice! I'll try to scan them and so can load them here. wahaha... They gave us the sample pictures to bring home so that we could decide and then bring back to them where it'll take them about 1 1/2months to put it into a frame. *anticipates* ((:
After that, mum gave me a lift to Vivo. Met Jaja, Desmond, Azeann, Siti and Azimah for movie- The mummy! It was quite good. Just that cause all of them worked morning shift, except for me and Siti who's on night, Jaja and Azeann fell asleep through the movie! haha. Poor girls. Siti and i kept laughing thru the show. it's quite nice! Better than Dark Knight i must say. Desmond bluffed us. He told me ystd that the movie's 1 hr and 13min. But it turned out to be 113min. Des, quite a big differnce to you know? haha.
After movie, went down to bugis to meet Wei Jie (my expo colleague) for dinner. then we just walked around the place. and i bought a bag again! haha... What's new. its val thank you. ((: hahaha...
Oh well! looking forward for the weekends! YEAH!!!!!!!!

*phew*
It has been a long straining week. Oh my shitties... I've survived yet another few more days again. It's been madness. I've been sleeping tiny winney short hours like 2 hours before morning shift? Meetings, work, home, really no life. haha. Plus this month's quite packed with like preparations for my 21st Birthday celebration. Logistics and many others. Gosh.
Today work as really madness. Imagine over a wheelchair, a few colleagues and i combed the entire SGH, ward by ward, level by level just to find that missing wheelchair. Which was shit. Was so tiring! But thank God that it was found! I realised there have been many things that has been happening at work, but God really pulled me through. ((:
Desmond was like quite poor thing today. Cause he said he saw 2 wheelchairs in the morning. But the thing is what he said didn't have any back ups. because no one else went to check on the wheelchair. So no one could be his witness.
After work, Subra came to pick me up as he was on his way to church too. Yay!! haha. And we went to buy bubble tea first. With just one call i made to Ronney, the order of bubble tea from 2 cups became 6 cups la! haha. It was siao. Cost almost $10! hahaha... Went church and met up with the rest of the worship team members.. We had prac and all. It was awesome! Can't wait for tmr!!!!
After everything, we headed to Jo's house for dinner cause she had lots of food at home! Oh yea, we were doing wound dressing for her cat's runned- over tail. It was quite sad. For those who can't take it, would sure vomit. But to Jo and i... this is nothing. haha. we were pretty much "immune" to it already. After that we had fellowship with lots of laughter. I've concluded that everyone was just tired. hahaha.. But it was a good meal together. ((:
Subra sent the CCK and Bukit Panjang ppl home. But after dropping the CCK ppl, we didnt want to head back yet. So the 2 of us went for joy ride around CCK, Old CCK, and lim chu kang. Went by cemetry and really dark roads, roads that were filled with foreign workers. Ewww. *creepy* And finally home at 1120pm! haha.
Going to sleep soon i think... Tmr early day in church and then off to work! *yawns* I can't wait for monday! It's my next off day!! *Yippie*

Yippieee! 010808... HAPPY NURSE'S DAY to all the nurses! It's our day! haha.. Had quite a horrible crazy day at work today that totally tired me out. But then received a msg from Mr Kevin (our lecturer) that really summarize the whole meaning to Nursing.
Being a nurse isn't about grades.
It's about being who we are.
No book can teach you how to cry with a patient.
No class can teach you how to tell a family
that a family member has died or are dying.
A nurse is not about the pills, the IV's and charting.
It's about being able to love people at their weakest moments and being able to forgive them for all their wrongs
and make a difference in their lives.
No one can make u a nurse.

After i read the msg. It made me feel really proud to be a nurse and i really thank God for being so real in my life. This 3 months hasn't been easy for me. I stumble and fall, but i was able to get up and fight on. I guess that's why i'm called Valerie. It actually stands for- Determined Purpose. and like what Wins tells me that i'm a fighter. I believe so too. (:
So anyway, SGH had some celebrations for Nurse's Day- food, greetings from fellow Healthcare professions. It was really sweet of them. Speech Therapist Kristl and MSW Alicia both came with Chocs for us. Oh yes, and the pharmacist Yi Xin too. It was really thoughtful of them. And they were one of the few who actually wished us! Some of our doctors didn't even do so but instead almost made me collapse with exhaustion. haha.

After work.. Had grandpa's birthday celebration at C.S.C @ Bukit Batok. It was a great catching up with fellow cousins. Youngest Uncle said i'm fat... ewwwwwww.. Demoralised.
After everything, rushed down to Bukit Timah's pool centre to meet Jo, Ronn, Melvin, Mark, Leroy and Subra!
Because it's Jo's birthday and i couldnt make it for the surprise earlier.
So decided to go down and give her a big hug! ((:
